This seaside village is a true Connemara gem. Secluded and peaceful, yet with its own unique charms, the Cashel Bay area is extremely attractive and is connected to the Roundstone road by the very scenic road known as Cloonisle. While Cashel is more a residential area than a village, it is well worth a visit for the wonderful views it offers, particularly from Cashel Hill (or High Cashel).
Situated behind the village church is the community graveyard, which is accessed by a steep (signposted) road. Driving is not advised, but the hill is easily accessible on foot for able-bodied individuals and the resulting vista is well worth the hike. Make sure to bring your camera!
