DESCRIPTION:The Great Fjord Swim\, 2025   \nOPEN WATER SEA SWIMMING IN MAGICAL KILLARY FJORD\nSwim in the crystal-clear waters of Killary Fjord\, Co Galway\, with Connemara’s majestic mountains soaring all around. Open water swimming events don’t get much better than this. \nThis sea swimming event has a choice of 3 distances 3.9km (full Ironman distance) | 2km | 750m for all levels of experience in open sea swimming. \n3.9km (Full Ironman-distance) route\nFor experienced swimmers who want to go that bit further. Wetsuit and non-wetsuit swimmers welcome. \n2km route – Abandon ship and swim home. Wetsuit and non-wetsuit swimmers welcome. \n750m route – Swim from Mayo to Galway! Wetsuit only. \nOPEN WATER SWIMMING EVENT BENEATH THE SHADOW OF CONNAUGHT’S HIGHEST MOUNTAIN\, IN THE WATERS OF KILLARY FJORD \nSAFETY ALL THE WAY \nExpert kayakers and safety boats with you all the way. \nTow-floats must be worn by all competitors – No competitor will be allowed in the water without a tow-float so ensure you order one at registration or bring your own. No exceptions will be made. \nPART OF THE GLOBAL SWIM SERIES \nFantastic Spectators points are dotted along the fjord where races start between 08.30 and 14.30. \nPlease park sensibly and respect other road users. \n  \n  \n  \n
